To qualify for either a salesperson or broker license, an applicant must be at least 19 years old and must be a high school graduate or hold a GED. This requirement does not apply to individuals who graduated from a school exempt under Nebraska law, completed a qualifying homeschool program, or completed another education program the commission accepts as equivalent.
Salesperson’s License
Beginning January 1, 2026, an applicant for a salesperson’s license must complete three commission-approved real estate courses, each consisting of 30 class hours, for a total of 90 hours of pre-licensing education. Two of these courses are mandatory:
· Real Estate Principles & Practices, and
· Nebraska License Law.
The third course may be any other commission-approved 30-hour real estate course. These courses may be completed in a traditional classroom setting or through approved distance education.
Course #0003 – Developing Professional Conduct & Ethical Practices is also required for Salespersons and Broker applicants. This class need only be taken one-time.
Broker’s License
To qualify for a broker’s license, an applicant must either have actively practiced for at least two years as a licensed salesperson or broker and complete an additional 60 class hours of commission-approved education beyond the salesperson requirement, or apply under a hardship provision.
We start new classes each month.
Most of our classes meet two evenings a week – either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday. Class hours are 6:15 to 10:00 P.M. From time-to-time classes are offered on weekends. See the schedule to determine if any weekend courses are on the current schedule.
